Fall Program began the 2012–2013 season with a bang – featuring a world premiere by Jorma Elo and the smash hits Rooster by Christopher Bruce and The Second Detail by William Forsythe.
THE NUTCRACKER | November 23 - December 30, 2012
Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker returns completely reimagined with all new sets and costumes designed by award-winning designer Robert Perdziola. The world premiere production will encompass the beauty and magic of the traditional Nutcracker story with revised scenes and choreography by Nissinen. See it for the first time!
ALL KYLIAN | March 7 - March 17, 2013
All Kylian includes Jiří Kylián’s Wings of Wax, Tar and Feathers, and Symphony of Psalms. These three company premieres are considered some of Kylián’s most iconic ballets, featuring his potent, spellbinding vision and including large-scale set designs.
THE SLEEPING BEAUTY | March 22 – April 7, 2013
Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty has become one of Boston Ballet’s trademark works. This breathtakingly beautiful story ballet will be presented with lavish original sets and costumes by David Walker from The Royal Ballet. When it was last presented in 2009, The New York Times raved, “superb achievement.”
CHROMA | May 2 – 12, 2013
Chroma takes the stage with Chroma, a mesmerizing work of extreme movement by award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor. Chroma is book-ended by George Balanchine's Serenade, the first ballet he choreographed in America, and Symphony in C, comprised of four movements culminating in a rousing grand finale.
COPPÉLIA | May 16 – 26, 2013
George Balanchine’s Coppelia is a light-hearted comedy with more than 20 children from Boston Ballet School – a jubilant and engaging classic for the whole family.
