        Costume Shop Internship - Craft and Dye Intern

        Department: Costume Shop 
        Location: 19 Clarendon Street, Boston, MA
        Reports To: Craft Artisan/Dyer
        Term:  OPEN - FALL 2014

        DESCRIPTION

        Gain direct experience in costume crafts construction and professional shop operations

        Instruction in making headpieces and accessories for stage use, including tiaras, hats, jewelry, floral sprays and armor.  Gain experience dyeing dancewear fabrics and practice color matching with paint and dye.  Strengthen hand skills, including stitching, wire-wrapping, jewelry and millinery techniques.  Receive instruction in proper chemical safety and use of safety equipment

        QUALIFICATIONS

        • Junior or Senior in college
        • Suitable degree program or classes in: jewelry, dye, millinery, sculpture
        • Portfolio focused on hand skills
        • Attention to detail
        • Available at least one full work day per week

        Benefits:
