        Christina Ghiardi

        Studio\Class

        Boston - Pre-Professional Program

        Ghiardi 180x230
Originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, Christina Ghiardi received her early ballet training from Morgantown Dance Studio. At the age of 14, she joined the Joffrey Ballet School Trainee Program on full scholarship where she studied for one year before being accepted to The School of American Ballet (SAB) where she completed four years of pre-professional training. While at SAB, she participated in the Student Choreographic Workshop (both choreographing and performing), New York Choreographic Institute, and New York City Ballet Lecture Demonstrations. She also performed in SAB’s annual Workshop Performances, with featured roles in George Balanchine’s Who Cares? and Cortège Hongrois. During her final year at SAB, she was the recipient of the Lisa and Richard Perry Scholarship.

Upon graduating from SAB in 2012, Ghiardi was invited to join Boston Ballet II. She performed with Boston Ballet in many productions, including Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty, and George Balanchine’s Symphony in C, Serenade, and Coppélia. She also performed the featured role of the harp in Jerome Robbin’s Fanfare for Boston Ballet’s 2013 Next Generation.

During Ghiardi’s final year at SAB, she was one of two advanced students selected by Chairman and co-Chairman of the school, Peter Martins and Kay Mazzo, for an inaugural student teacher program. She taught a select number of classes to the advanced levels of SAB before graduating. Ghiardi has also taught at Morgantown Dance Studio and Boston Ballet School’s Summer Dance Program.
