Yoyi Cerrutti began her ballet training at the age of five in Lima, Peru. She studied at Miraflores Ballet Academy and later joined their corps de ballet. She danced a number of featured roles under the direction of the Russian dancers and choreographers Dimitri Rostoff, Fanny Dreiffus, and Diana Kane. She also made occasional appearances on national television.
Cerrutti has taught at Miraflores Ballet Academy children's and elementary division, Foster City Ballet School, Ana Fitzgerald School of Ballet, the Performing Arts Academy with Colin Russell, and the Professional Ballet School with Zoltan and Carmela Peters.
She further enhanced her teaching and ballet techniques by attending numerous classes at the prestigious Ballet School of Alicia Alonso in Havana, Cuba. Cerrutti holds a bachelor's degree in education.
