        • Question: My child is registered, what do we do on the first day of class?
          Answer:
We recommend that you arrive about 15 minutes prior to the start of class to give you and your child ample time to prepare for class. All students are encouraged to use the bathroom and wash their hands prior to class. Boston and North Shore parents should drop-off and pick-up their child directly outside the studio. In the Newton Studio, children should remain in the lobby and the instructor will collect them when it is time for class to begin. All facilities have waiting areas. All students should be picked up immediately following the end of class.

Question: Where can I park when I arrive for class with my child?
          Answer:
While Newton and the North Shore have parking lots adjacent to the studio, parking in Boston’s South End can be challenging. Unfortunately, there is no parking lot at Boston Ballet School on Clarendon Street. To help assist you, here are some suggestions for parking in the area:

Visitor Parking on local streets – please check the signs carefully.
Atelier 505 Parking Garage: Located under the Calderwood Pavilion. Entrance on Warren Avenue, at the rear of the facility.
There are two parking garages on Berkeley Street at Columbus Avenue. Open until 10pm.
PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE PARK ON CLARENDON STREET IN FRONT OF THE BOSTON STUDIO.

Question: Are there dressing rooms my child can use to prepare for class?
          Answer:
Locker rooms for both men and women are available at all studios. In both Boston and Newton, students are permitted to bring in locks for day use only. The North Shore locker rooms are shared with the adjacent YMCA; locks may be acquired through the YMCA staff. It is strongly encouraged that students do not leave valuables unattended.

Question: Will lunch be provided for my child?
          Answer:
No, meals are not provided. Summer Dance Workshop and morning Journeys students are encouraged to bring water and a healthy lunch each day.  Please note that water is the only beverage permitted in the studios.

Question: Will there be an end-of-program performance?
          Answer:
While there will not be a formal performance held at the end of the program, there will be an informal open house in studio on the last day of each program. More details will follow as the program commences.

Question: My child is currently not a school year student with Boston Ballet School. What do I do if he/she is interested in attending the year-round program?
          Answer:
Students ages 2-8 are encouraged to enroll directly into our age appropriate programs. Students over the age of 8 must take a placement class in order to be properly placed into an appropriate level within the school. Please note that students who enroll in Summer Dance Workshop and/or Master Class Series will be automatically evaluated for the school year. Registration packets corresponding to the student’s placement will be mailed at the completion of the program.
